Jamie was absolutely beautiful on her wedding day this past Saturday. ^_^ Her dress was gorgeous, her hair was MUCH longer than it was the last time I saw her (curly and BLONDE!), and she was just beaming during the ceremony. I hardly recognized her younger sister and my former suitemate at TLU, Nattie (Natalie). But Nattie knew me on sight and following the ceremony and picture-taking, she came up and gave me a big hug, right after Jamie. She looked taller than I remember, and her hair was a lot longer, too. I missed just chatting with Nattie like old times, and we caught up on what we'd been up to in the past years. It was such a lovely wedding and reception, and I was welcomed to a table of friends of Jamie's family. That was very nice of them since I didn't really know anyone beyond Jamie, Nattie and another girl from TLU. I got home at about 9 or so that night from the wedding in New Braunfels.
Today was a fun day because even though I had a dental appointment this morning, I got a surprise visit from Megan, a friend from Silverleaf. She said that she didn't mind coming into town with me for my appointment as long as she could hang with me. The appointment went by quickly; I somehow managed to pull loose a filling over the past year of flossing. O_o But, it was fixable, and Megan and I were off to Hastings to do a little browsing. I found a number of books that I'd like to read sometime in the future, and Megan picked up 3 volumes of "Hot Gimmick" for $.99 each! Lucky! I found a copy of "Transformers: The Movie", the 20th anniversary animated edition DVD. *does happy dance* Looking forward to watching that over the weekend.
Then, we had lunch at the River House Tearoom in Gruene and chatted about what had been going on since we last saw each other. After that, we stopped by Megan's new place which is actually close to my parents' house. She and her boyfriend have 2 dogs, 2 ferrets, a bird and a beta. Her dogs are so precious and friendly as are her ferrets, even if the little guys were a little sleepy. X3
After Megan left, I prepared a batch of chocolate-covered strawberries and apple slices for Mark's barbeque tonight. It was Mark, Rex, Theresa and me at the barbeque, and it was just like the fun times from Silverleaf. Mark grills some mean meat and cooks an excellent jumbalaya. Our entertainment, aside from Mark's dog and cat chasing each other around, was Kurt Russell in "Big Trouble in Little China". I hadn't seen that movie in awhile, and it's pretty funny. The commentary from Rex and Mark was equally entertaining, sending both Theresa and me into fits of giggles. It was so good to hang with all of them, and I'm excited about Theresa and Rex's wedding next April. And tomorrow, I head back to Denton only to come back here on Thursday for a library convention/exhibition in San Antonio on Friday with Beth. -_-; I'm just glad I'm not driving then.
