Busy Week and Island Plans
I just ordered my Macbook Pro! It should be here by next friday. I'm getting the 17 inch one because of the HD screen. I compared the 15 inch and 17 inch at the Apple store in person. It's amazing the difference it makes.
This week whizzed by. I had my first training session on Saturday, and the second follow up session on Tuesday. I finally got to try out my new skills on my own for the first time today, and I did really well. The theories and patterns and tools are really starting to come together in my head.
I helped paint the upstairs rooms at my brother's new house on Sunday. jesnie came over to help too. There were a lot of painters helping out, and we really made a lot of progress, finishing 4 rooms and the hallway in a several hours.
I was really sore on Tuesday, but oddly it was my legs and not my arms.
I went to Passover at my brother's in-law's house last night. I stuffed my self with lots of delicious food, but I think my favorite was the brisket. The desserts were pretty fabulous too.
I'm probably going to paint the closets in the guest bedroom downstairs tonight. We had the floors refinished a week or so ago, and all the walls desperately need a fresh coat.
Tomorrow my brother and his kids will descend on our house. There's a chance that my brother will go help our other brother work on the new house since they are moving in on Saturday, so it might just be my mom and I hanging out with the kids.
Saturday night I'm going to see mercurialdawn perform in the all Filipino version of the Vagina Monologues.
Sunday we're doing brunch for easter at my brother's new house.
I haven't been this busy with this many engagements on my calendar in one week in a long time. I actually had to fill out my google calendar to keep it all straight.
I wanted to buy my ticket to Saipan tonight after talking to my oldest brother one last time, but I think he's still in Palau. Someone answered his phone and I think they said "tomorrow," though their accent was thick so they could have said just about anything. I'll try to reach him tomorrow though. I'm curious about if he's gotten his ticket to Florida yet or not. My little brother asked if we could schedule it so that I'm still here when my oldest brother comes through on his way down to Florida. Why am I going to Saipan when my brother is leaving Saipan, you might wonder. Well I'm going to hang out with his girlfriend for the month that he'll be in Florida. She doesn't like to stay alone. I'm not sure if it's fear or if their two big dogs are too much to handle when he's not around. Either way is ok by me. I like his girlfriend, so it should be fun.
I want to get the ticket soon since my intended departure date is now less than 3 weeks away. It's almost hard to believe that I'll be on a tropical island in less than a month, and yet it feels like the right thing to do so I do believe it!
More exciting is that jesnie is probably coming to visit me for a while when I'm out there which will be so much fun. There's nothing like sharing something great that you know about with a friend.
I'm planning a trip to Palau while I'm in Saipan. I never made it there on my previous trips and I've always really wanted to go. Since my brother's girlfriend is from Palau, I'll be able to stay with her family, even if she or my brother can't go with me.
If it works out I might also be taking a trip to Manila to hang out with mercurialdawn in early July too!
