I just sent my revitalized curriculum vitae (aka resume) to my contact/old friend in Portland. When it was sent I felt a whoosh of excitement in my gut. Why? Because, IT'S EXCITING!
To be realistic, who really who knows what, if anything will come of it, but even if nothing directly comes through him, I have my resume completed and ready to hand out to anyone should the opportunity arise. It's a good feeling to have, even if it's not going to be spread around Portland; which it is. Whee!
I've been getting books lately. I got two in the mail from amazon. I actually bought one in an actual bookstore (border's). I never buy books in the bookstore unless I've done my research and discovered that it is indeed cheaper to do it that way. No, indeed it was a reckless purchase without any research or planning. However, in this case: 25% off coupon + instant gratification = totally worth it.
They were all purchased in preparation for my (maybe) move out to Portland. They'll be helpful though, even if it just turns out to be a 2 week vacation.
So now I have a guide book for the Pacific Northwest, a "Newcomer's Handbook" for Portland, and a book that details 20 different walks in and around Portland. Now that my resume is done, I'll spend sometime reading up on all the stuff I need to know, like where to find the best beer in town.
