Getting fired sucks. Especially when you aren't given specific reasons as to why you were fired before they push you out the door... I had a very short talk with both of my bosses, in which they said that over the past year there has been five complaints from clients about me. I know for a fact it was over 2 years not 1, they just wanted to make it seem worse than it was. You remember people who file a formal complaint about you... Of those five clients there were only two that we actually lost. So over 2 years I managed to lose two clients. That is not bad at all... When I asked them if they could give me specific reasons as to why I'm being fired, they replied "I think we're past specifics at this point". WTF DOES THAT MEAN?! I'm sorry but if I've been working there for over two and a half years, I think I deserve a simple explanation as to why I'm being fired, not "it's not working out". Yea that's the first thing one of my bosses said to me as we sat down. I was very shocked to be getting fired. I thought I was doing a good job. My supervisor regularly praised me for doing a good job and figuring out tough problems that no one else could. The whole situation had a vibe of someone who got caught stealing something from them or worse. I am so confused. Just out of nowhere they turn on me and become complete assholes. I'm very sad to not be working there anymore, but at the same time I'm kind of relieved. I was getting paid well under what I should for my job, and recently they've been putting a ton of pressure on us Techs to magically produce more billable hours when we didn't have enough work to do so. I'm trying to stay positive and just think to myself this happened for a reason, the universe didn't think you should be there anymore and that maybe I'll go on to do bigger and better things. I've been working on my resume all weekend with Vicky. I think I have it almost perfected. Tomorrow I'll be contacting my references to see if it's OK to use them, and working on a cover letter. Fortunately there are about 3-6 IT jobs open that I can apply for this week. I hope I get an interview with at least one of them.
