Words cannot begin to describe how truly freaking amazing it was!!!! Met up with Evan and Becky for a bit the night before then went to crash with a friend in West Hollywood since her house was an hour closer to the event than mine. I got up around 7am and got dressed. I wore my ripped bleached out jeans, a white button up oxford shirt, black tie (loosely tied), my black cat in the hat hat that looks like one hide wore (points to user pic) , black leather boots, and sunglasses that also were sorta like a pair hide wore. I sprayed my hair a soft pink. I remember someone pointing to me and saying 'hide' About three or four people stopped us and asked if they could interview us. It was so cool! Two of the interviews were for Japanese TV. I got back just in time to get in the front. It was perfect! I was standing right under the stage they preformed on and I was right in front of the screen that they showed them on. They did Endless Rain, IV, Jade, and Rusty Nail. Each song was played a number of times throughout the day so they could get proper footage throughout the night. There was a number of wardrobe change breaks and recordings of older X songs were played during those. Tears was one of them. There were clips of hide and (damn! Im starting to tear up just remembering it). It was very emotional. When everything was almost finished, Yoshiki started talking to us. I was so tired that I forgot exactly what he said. Basically about hide being with them and that his guitar had been on stage with them the whole time. I think that marked about the 8th time I broke out in tears. When it got dark, they passed out glow sticks with the X Japan logo on them. I got two hot pink ones. (later someone asked if he could trade a purple one for one of my pink ones. I traded one of them with him.
Words cannot describe some of the moments. Night time fell and Endless Rain played again. By that time, we had been there for almost ten hour. The crowd just made X's with our glow sticks and swayed to the music. The music stopped and we kept singing. It was magical.
I remember when the camera first cut to one of hide's guitars that was on stage with them. I lost it right then and started crying. I really hope the cameras that were scanning the crowd didnt get me crying. Every once in awhile, Toshi would look over the edge and wave to the crowd. One time he poured his water bottle out and I got splashed with it! Toshi juice! (insert fangirl squee here) There was one time that Yoshiki looked over and I held up my hand and wiggled my fingers at him. He wiggled his fingers back! I almost died!!!
When it was over, a few of the guys that I was standing by and I went to find a place to sit down and we chatted for a bit and exchanged email addresses. Then we went across the street to McDonalds and ate and shared memories and stories about X. That was a perfect end to a perfect day. Then I met up with Evan and Becky and we went back to The Roosevelt. (thanks again, Becky <3)
I feel sorry for those that thought "It isnt really a concert so why go?" It was fucking BETTER than a concert!!
