The kiddo and I went on a wee shopping trip today. She got some crafty stuff, I got software (huge sale on a/v editing programs at Best Buy -- all the ones I've been wanting to get for half the price! whee!). Sat down with a mocha for me, juice and a polar bear cookie for the bunster, then we dithered around the kids' area in the bookstore for a good long while.
Outside there's howling wind, light but steady snow, bitter cold. I thoroughly enjoyed being out in it (walking, anyway; driving, not so much).
Now we're home. I've a ham roast in the oven with potatoes, garlic, and parsnips. It's very Nigel Slater/British Sunday Supper, making me nostalgic for food my grandmother never would've made. (That may only make sense to me, I suppose. ;)
Last night Cats came over and after exchanging gifties (yay, pretty things!) there was Scrabble and SceneIt -- a mostly generic one and then the Star Trek version. Alex won both games. (I expect he'll kick our butts at the 007 edition.) Tonight maybe we'll watch a movie. Tea and cookies and warm fuzzy blankets.
