In keeping with the Hotei presence I'm feeling of late, I went to the farmers' market at Nathan Phillips Square today.
And am now wondering how the hell I'm going to get all this food home.
Don't care. Is good. /cornucopia
One caveat that I'm noting here for my own future reference: Unless there are plans to make jelly of them, there's no point in buying blackcurrants. They're just not nummy in their raw state. :P
I have the aforementioned blackcurrants, as well as red ones; gooseberries, black thimbleberries, wild blueberries, strawberries; yellow zucchini, red and white bulb onions, beefsteak tomatoes, an enormous head of romaine (yes, I'm going to actually make salad tonight); soft garlic breadsticks, and cheese ones as well.
I have fresh green peas in the pod, the best snack food ever, IMO. (Though I have to force myself not to buy too many, as no matter how many I get, they will ALL be consumed the same day. Cannot. Stop. Eating. Peas.)
Lunch today was fresh and summery. All I need now is a jug of wine.
And thou beside me singing in the wilderness, of course.
