...how I feel about
this. Okay, that's a lie. I'm wary. I know that the comics (and books) are not considered canon. And hey, canon and I sometimes don't get along. (I heard that. Quiet, you.) I'm intrigued to see Joss' vision of BtVS S8, and I loves me some comics, but... hmm.
All those things that didn't get wrapped up. All the implications of various unresolved stuff in both series. I'm curious, but I kind of don't want to know what might have happened in canon. It's too much fun speculating. :)
And on that note, warning (because I know there are some on my flist who are still going through the series),
Roger Wyndham-Pryce takes over the Council. Andrew is his (sneaking, lying) right-hand man, they construct cyborgs ostensibly to serve as Watchers, but have nefarious purposes in mind... namely, an alliance with evil elements in L.A. (cue Brain: "try to take over the world!"). There is a cyborg Giles in London, a Buffy bot in Rome. All of that business with the Immortal was a diversion, Andrew's not as inocuous and bumbling as he seems (as suggested by the Dana retrieval). The real Scoobies have scattered and gone into hiding (possibly after a disastrous battle/rebellion). Giles springs Ethan from the Initiative and persuades him to help -- mmm, persuasion... -- they're still in America. Faith and Robin (maaaaaybe) are unaware of what's really going on, they're in Cleveland with some other Slayers (who are not all as unaware as they might seem). Giles and Ethan manage to catch Faith alone one night while she's on patrol and convince her to help them. One of them manages to get to Wesley and help him fake his death with a bit of magic. From there... I don't know. There'd be smut in there somewhere. :)
Now, I can't and won't write this. All I know from S5 AtS is transcripts, and I have too many WIPs. If this has been written already, AWESOME! Point me there, please! If not, and you want the bunny, by all means, take it.
