Fic is forthcoming...
It's been a while, but I have a little something to post, finally. It would've been posted days ago, but there's a problem: I tweak too much. Perfectionism's part of it, sure, but in recent months it's more about paranoia. Before a certain fandom kerfuffle (yeah, I know, I know), I could do a drabble or a ficlet or a non-series fic (like this one) and post it shortly thereafter and feel peachy keen about it, all things considered. Now, I can't do anything without poking and prodding and silk-pursing and what-have-you. Obsessive, yes, but I can't seem to help myself.
It's always good to put out your best work, obviously. But when does it stop being your best work, and start being overworked? It's a lot like knowing when to stop kneading, so you don't wind up with a brick instead of a loaf of bread. Yes, a beta would help, but, to throw another parallel at you, I'm the kind of person who would love to have someone come clean my house, except I'd have to clean it beforehand. *facepalm*
Argh. Doesn't help that the rest of my life has been set at Maximum Crazy for the past couple of months due to various factors, I suppose, but this is just silly. It's supposed to be fun, not stressful, dammit. Anyway. With any luck, it'll be up this week.
