Yesterday I was all fired up and ready for a big confrontation at the Italian Consulate. (had to go to apply for my visa back to Italy) You see, I was in Italy for too many days (two weeks too long in fact) and was afraid that it would affect my visa application. Especially since the lady behinde the plexiglass window was having a very bad day.
The first woman in line (french, working in America, applying for visa to italy) threw her pen at the lady behing the plexiglass and went to sit down. The second woman (strange African accent, couldn't place it) threw a clipboard at the woman behind the plixiglass!
Needless to say I was nervous! The woman in charge was not cutting any slack! The thought of running out of there crossed my mind, but instead I just put on my best friendly smile (not sure what that looks like) and asked her if she was having a tough day. She smiled at me and instantly my Visa info was A OK in her book. I only need to get one paper from Moreno, of which I wasn't aware of, and everything will be fine. I even struck up a lovely conversation with an older man who works there and we talked about Italy and he told me jokes about Brits and Americans trying to speak Italian (apparently they find it very funny,.....and it is)
Well, it looks like getting to Italy won't be as difficult as I thought it would be. :-)))
