I'm sitting around Moro's casa, trying to find things to do. It is so frustrating not being able to take care of my own business myself, but needing almost constant translating.
I understand most of what is said, but I could not repeat it back to you sounding anything like the original spoken words. My mouth just wasn't trained to make these sounds with out much practice. Soooo, the translation is from me to them, but then Moro is having trouble understanding me all of a sudden. I joke and say that he is just too old, and we laugh, but I wish he would slow down his mind a bit (like I have to too) and accually listen to the 'words that are commin out of my mouth!!' (quote from what movie boys and girls?)
Formal Italain lessons start next week. This should be very interesting.....a southern American learning Italain.
Oh! Today Moro and I had lunch at a table next to three Brits!!! AHHHHH my language (or at least very close to it)!!!!! We didn't speak, but I translated a bit of what the waitress was saying to them. I think they were going snow sking in Aosta (totally fab place btw) Now I wish I had a conversation, but one guy was realy cute with striking pale blue eyes (haven't seen blue eyes like that in a few months) and I didn't want to offend Moro by cutting out of our conversation. I know he wouldn't have minded, but for some reason, I am also shy about speaking English to native English speakers.... non so!
allorah!
I'm off to the pub in an hour or so.
See you there Jim! It is the one by the now very cold lake. You know the one!
Ciao ciao
