More from my vacation this summer. One of many shots from the sunset I shot on the beach. This one is on the darker side, not as cliche of a sunset, but I liked the tones and contrast.
Has finally grown cold enough to merit turning on the heat at home. Smells rather of burning now, but I expect that will go away as soon as all the dust has burned off. Had the first snow not so long ago up in the foothills. Maybe this winter will break cycle and bring much-needed water to the Truckee Meadows. The colder weather hasn't becoming old yet, perhaps because this last August was just plain miserable.
I had meant this weekend to be full of cleaning and the boring but necessary errands I usually put off. Thus far, I have managed to do none of the above. I did get to see a good celtic group Friday night, though. Spent yesterday with my parents. Had coffee with
veijukka before heading off to Trader Joe's to get a week's worth of groceries that will probably last at least two. Wandered into Big Lots next door and came out with a toaster and electric kettle for under $20. Gotta love discount stores. I rather think I'll be drinking a lot of tea this winter, so rather than stress my pathetic fridge/stove (one unit, waist high, not very effective at food storage or heating), I'll try the electric kettle.
