Yesterday was a very long day, but Husband's surgery is done and he is recovering well!
We left the house at 8 AM and did not get back home until almost 9 PM. The actual procedure only took half an hour, with another half an hour in the recovery room. But the hospital is 2 hours away from our place(that is what we get for living out in the boonies), and there was a lot of waiting. Kid actually drove, since my driving skill is not up to maneuvering in city traffic. I also have atrocious night vision. So Kid took a day off work, and spent the day waiting around with me on uncomfortable plastic chairs. He is a good kid...not a single complaint.
Husband is doing fine today. They prescribed some pain pills but he did not need anything besides Tylenol. He should be out of bandages in less than a week.
Today was back to work, starting with a 2 hours long Zoom meeting. Our work Zoom meetings are super casual. Today we had my cats sticking their faces in the camera, the director's little boy puttering around in the background, and couple people eating lunch. All the women are sans makeup with hair in sloppy ponytails. We are all well paid professionals, haha.
Husband wants to get back to driving tomorrow. We are starting with a trip to the market. Honeycrisp apples are on sale. Besides Fuji, those are my favorite apples. It might seem odd to be buying apples when there are several apple trees out back. But the birds have been at the backyard apples for weeks, and we do not mind the deer eating what is left.
Today's agenda: bananas, a giant skateboard, and a cliff.
