Bits-o-Awesomeness

So several MAJOR bits of awesomeness have taken place recently and I thought I might share. Today I went to the co-rec and ran for 20 minutes. I was pretty excited about that. Its been a very long time since I had been running, especially for long distances and it was nice to see how far I could push myself before my legs turned to jello. Needless to say, they were not happy with me in the end. As a matter of fact, they are still pretty pissed at me. But oh well, they will understand and be happy in the end. Now its just improving and continuing to run.

I have a new member of my household and his name is Squall!!! Squall is a spider plant born of the spider plant Tempest. He is a little cutie, but he has got a lot of growing to do. He has made very good friends with Katie's rescued plant, so he is happy as a clown. I have always enjoyed having plants, but I worry for next year. My roommate is allergic to just about everything under the sun, and I have resisted getting plants before because I do not want to make my roommate sick. Sooooo we shall see how things go next year because I have no intentions of getting rid of the plant.

I tried a new recipe this week, and I have very pleased with the results. The main dish in the recipe is not real special. It is a cheese quesadilla, but the fun and very tasty part comes in with the things you make with it. There is a really simple salsa and guacamole recipe, but they are both rather awesome. I was really surprised, I thought the salsa was not going to taste like much, but in fact it tasted really good after I gave it a few hours to marinate. The guacamole was my favorite part. I just recently got into eating guacamole so to have it come out so well and to taste so good, made me very happy. Unfortunately when i made it all, I accidentally burnt the quesadillas but c'est la vie, it was still worth it all in the end. The recipe was really awesome. If i had the link i would post it, but unfortunately I do not. I do know that it was an Essence of Emeril episode and it can be found on www.foodnetwork.com
