you really got a hold on me and it's feeling good
I wish I could put the emotional rollercoaster ride of last night into words so I could share it with everyone. But it's just so difficult to find a way to make other people understand. 10 years ago I bought a CD with an orange cover. Hanson. I fell madly in love and it was a true love that stuck with me all this time. Throughout my life Hanson has provided a soundtrack for moments I will never forget. As I drifted off in the car on the way home that CD was playing and I felt for a moment or two that I was 11 years old. The pure innocent joy that I felt then, I felt last night and it spilled over the brim and I experienced something that was so MINE, that most people will never know. And it's too bad for them.
So, you might want to know at this point what actually happened. Well Hanson did the walk at 3:00 but that's 3:00 Hanson time so they didn't actually do it until after 3 but we had just arrived when everyone was waiting for them to start by the buses so we were accidently at the right spot. Taylor and Zac walked out and we were right next to them. Naturally girls were trying to get close but they weren't TOO crazy though I did see some girl totally trying to grope Taylor. So I got a good video of the walk and it was all very strange and amusing. Poughkeepsie IS the sketchiest place ever. I mean all the stores and buildings are like broken down and chained up, hardly anything is even open. But to Hanson fans, this isn't really anything too new. So at the end of the walk Issac walks right up like nex to me and I'm just like..uhhhh hi. Weird. After the walk they went back into the bus Zac hung around a little and took pictures with some people but Kris was too shocked to get in there and ask for one lol. So after the guys went in we went to find a place that actually had food. I've never had such a hard time finding a place to eat in a city. But we found a chinese food and we took our chances eating it and sat outside the venue listenng to them do the soundcheck inside.
At about 6:30 The Meet and Greet people were let in, we were led upstairs to a lounge that was dark and freezing but I wasn't sure if it was cold or if I had chills because of what was coming. Sounds cliche but I honestly didn't know. We all stood around talking nervously, none of us knew what we would say. When Hanson walked into the room I was the first to say hi but I felt my heart drop into my stomache and my head got fuzzy. The guys were nice but I didn't really think there was anything to say that would..matter. I just took it all in, got Middle of Nowehere signed and we got a group picture taken and Zac was right behind me touching my shoulder. After that surreal moment we got to go into the venue before the doors were open so we all got front row. We formed ourselves a little barrier with our bodies and promised not to let anyone squish past us. I was right in front of the piano. We had to wait through TWO opening bands which was torture. I tried to enjoy them to pass the time, clap politely and all that but I was just SO ready for Hanson to come on that stage. We could see some of the setlist on the stage before they came on so I knew they'd start with "Great Divide" and they did so many great songs and they seemed to play for a longer time than usual. Maybe I was just enjoying it too much but Kris said it seemed like a long set too. Let me tell you, front row is the best fucking thing in the world. It's like the whole show is for YOU and maybe..10 other people. At the end Taylor got up on top of the piano and then jumped down and was just lying on the ground singing. GOOD LORD that man is sexy. Even if he is WAY too skinny. I still need to get the setlist and all the pictures from the reporter. And on Monday I'm going to see them in Hartford and Kristin gets to experience this.
I wish that review made sense and explained what really happened but it doesn't matter because I know. And I know at least two people that will understand. Oh and I lost my voice, not that I care if I ever get it back again!
