Vincent strode silently towards the edge of the water. It had been a while since he had last been here in the forgotten city, ever since joining the online community DDD. He stared seeply into the water for a bit, and then backed away slowly into the tree behind him. As he sank deeply into the trunk of the tree, he watched the fireflies dance

Vincent wasn't the only one seeking solitude amongst the trees near the Forgotten Capital. Kadaj had slipped out to spend some time alone; even after getting Yunalesca back, he still had many unanswered questions which needed answers. His eyes narrowed as he caught a glimpse of red amongst the shadows, and he crept closer, a little surprised to find the gunman here.

"Vincent? What are you doing here?"

Vincent nearly flinched when he heard Kadaj's voice disrupt his much appriciated silence. He almost turned to face him, but decided against it.

"I should ask you the same question, Kadaj." He sighed, "But that wouldn't answer your question. I come here often, just to think.."

"I live here, you idiot." He jabbed his thumb in the direction of the Forgotten Capital. "Every ShinRa employee from here to Midgar has orders to shoot me on sight. Me and my brothers can't exactly kick back and relax in Edge like everyone else."

Vincent closed his eyes, maybe in annoyence.

"I've been coming to this exact spot for months, and I haven't seen you in this particular area before. Save that fight you had with Cloud."

He made a gesture with his hand. "Knowing you, since when have a few soliders ever been much of a threat?"

"A few soldiers is one thing. The entire ShinRa military division and their mechanical back-up is something else altogether." He sat down near Vincent, not caring if he wasn't welcome. "Okay, I usually hang out by the dark pool, or down those wierd glowing stairs... but I wanted to be alone tonight."

Vincent tensed a bit when Kadaj sat next to him, but relaxed after a few seconds.

"I don't see why they would still be after you. From what I gather, you don't pose as much as a threat to them anymore."

He lifted his head and stared back into the water. He let out a sigh.
"I suppose if you want to be alone, this would usually be the place for it.."

"Rufus hates me." He picked up a pebble and tossed it half-heartedly towards the water. "At least, he used to. He doesn't seem to remember much since he was brought back to life. I guess it's an order he gave before he died, because he thought it was funny, and as far as I know it hasn't been taken back yet. I can't say I blame him."

He allowed himself a wicked smile.

"I am pretty good at murder, after all."

Vincent gave a rare smirk, although Kadaj couldn't see it because it was covered by his cape.

"I can't believe that even after death, there are still people who follow the man. I can never hope to see what they see in him.."

He shifted his weight a bit.

"I hear he has come back though, as impossible as it seems. Once he gets his memories back, do you think he'll take back his order?"

"Maybe. If he even remembers who I am." He tossed another pebble at the pool. "Not that I should even care. I've got Yunalesca now... you think I'd be happy."

Vincent watched the ripples in the water with seemingly little intrest.
"...That is probably because you know deep down that in the end, she will leave you."

[shinra_sucks]

"How dare you say that!" With surprising speed, Kadaj turned on Vincent, his face contorted into a snarl. "I love her! I won her back from Sephiroth! How can you say that she'll just leave me like that?"

Vincent remained unmoved.
"I didn't say it would happen, but anything is in the relm of possibility. It is just my opinion, so if you feel so strongly againest it then simply disregard it."

[shinra_sucks]

"I don't know why I'm even listening to you." Kadaj folded his arms across his chest defensively and scowled, sitting back down with a sour look on his face.

"Neither do I, really." Vincent said simply. "No need to pout, Kadaj. If you aren't willing to listen to any advice I give you, then maybe you should leave."
