Plot is not the best place to start with appreciating this show. Let's not forget the other things we have no idea about: the actual truth of the flashback to baby Derek episode, Derek's father, why Deaton was supposedly the Hale emissary but switched to Scott, where Cora was all this time, why Derek's first words on seeing she was alive were "Sorry to disappoint," why no one seems to be perturbed by the two dozen violent deaths in three years (seriously, the town would have (1) been overrun by media (2) been overrun by agents and (3) depopulated significantly.

And yes, why DID Lydia's hair and wardrobe get so un-fab when she was revealed as a Banshee?

However, let us feast on the Sterek moments (like the shoulder touch, and the ambulance caress, and and and. ;D
I think they should have left the ep as a cliffhanger and given us the "I WAS ALWAYS THE ALPHA" / "I turn to my pack" moments in 3B's opener.

BWAAAAAAAAhhahahaahhaa. Oh, my, yes. So much confusion, idiocy, gaping plot-holes, horrific plot contrivances to make things work except they really, really don't....

But then you *do* have Stiles and Derek in some interesting moments, Isaac being pretty awesome, Lydia being entirely bad-ass, Allison growing a brain and the Sheriff FINALLY KNOWS!!

I'm halfway expecting the rest of season three to be revealing the first half as all a dream or something. Seriously.

She really irritated me in season...two? With her homicidal brainwash whatever. That was annoying.

But yeah, she's getting better. I luff Lydia so much, I wish she had a bit more story, but she still rocks my socks. :)
