(no subject)
Well, it indeed has been a while - thought I'd drop by and sweep away some of the cobwebs from this journal, eh?
To be honest, I've been a bit aloof from all the "social networking" sites lately. I mean, I used to be a Twitter addict and post at least 3-5 times a day and check for updates every 15 minutes.... now I can barely be bothered to check for any updates once a week if I can. And yes, Facebook has its uses, but I am certainly not going to post anything private or personal over there....
So yes dear LJ, I've turned to you as my oldest, loyal site - well, you haven't archived my account for non-usage yet :)
I guess I'm feeling the shallowness and tad emptiness of all those sites and I guess I got a bit tired of trying to keep up with the latest "buzz" Oh well, the world will just have to learn how to cope without my participation and witty comments on social networking sites.
Besides, I am elbows deep in computer-techy tasks. And yes, I tend to fiddle and hack and end up "breaking" things, but I guess I then have to learn how to fix them again so at the end of the day, I am seeing this as a learning experience and not a hair-pulling day of frustration.
And yes, I have spent the past 9 days trying to resolve an issue with my network, googling for advice, following that advice, breaking things, then fixing them, then back to google... repeat! Turns out it was a dodgy update from Apple, and a hack and slash to remove the new update and return the previous version - hey presto! Fixed! *nails on chalkboard* is only one way I can express my frustration!!
This week I still have some backing up and cloning and consolidating before I do a major clean and purge of duplicated files. *snorfle* yes, this is going to be an adventure as I learn. I promise not to come back here and cry.
