Game of Thrones

Shocking, another non-PoI post.

Anyway, I wanted to talk a little about the S2 trailer that came out recently. The "Seven Devils" one.

It's funny, because I didn't care for Arya very much in S1. But that moment in the trailer, where she's practically looking straight at the camera and saying, "Anyone can be killed." Holy shit, that got me. It's really powerful, and I find myself interested to see what happens to her. Granted, I know what happens to her, because I'm all kinds of hella spoiled for the books, but the show hasn't followed the books 100% and execution of same events can differ significantly in the change of medium. And though I may not like Arya the character, I do think the actress is superb, especially for a child actor, and I'd love to see how she handles the upcoming material. And considering the way she intones just that one line, omg.

Just... the flatness of it. The knowledge. How much it's informed by what's happened to her. And from her POV, yes, anyone can be killed. After all, her father was killed. Her father, who is basically bigger than life at her age, and Lord of Winterfell. You see this steeliness in her eyes, and a bit of death, too. Death of innocence. *shivers*
