Yeeessss :D I remember this one. So wonderful, so creepy given the context, all overlaid with Richard's certainty that everything is wonderful under Orden. And a great use of the prompt which I agree is incredibly evil.

Whoops - I meant to leave my review/comment/squee on here to begin with, but put it up at LotSeekerfic, so wanted to add one here as well.

My jaw just dropped as I read this fic - it literally sent chills down my spine.

Watching as Richard's Orden-drugged happiness consumes everything in his path was horric. It's made even more terrible since he does it with the best intentions. Richard just wants his family to be together and happy, but, in doing so, with each well-meaning step, he turns into a complete monster.

Using Jennsen to show us the absolute blood-chlling progression of Richard's growing tyranny was brilliant, since she is the one person immune to his "gentler" forms of persuasion, and can see what's happening more clearly than anyone else.

And, Darken, just as kindly, and obediently, shows Richard the perfect way to finally break their sister so she be just as happy as the rest of them are. ShiversThis was just perfection. One of the best Seeker fics I've ever read. I'm so sorry I missed it before, but so glad you ( ... )

XD, thank you for the comment, and thank you for reposting it here. I appreciate that!

I love your reactions! I really like the idea of putting Richard in essentially the same position as Darken Rahl, and once he is there, he pretty much does exactly as Rahl did, and they're both convinced that they're doing the right thing, that he has only the best interest of others at heart, and all they want, in the end, is to be loved and surrounded by their family. The path of good intentions leading them straight to hell essentially. I'm glad the horror surrounded by idyllic is chilling enough!

Ooooh, yeah, I've seen that movie, and I'm tickled by the comparison. Thank you!
