stuff, stuff, and things

I keep not talking about shit that I wanna talk about, idek. I guess I feel most chatty when my summer shows are running, but it's not like I've talked all that much about Leverage or Burn Notice when they were running, mostly because I've been quietly enjoying the former and rabblerabble annoyed by the latter due to Poochie. I do flail lots over White Collar though. Either way, I can't wait until all three shows are back in June.

Otherwise, I've been keeping up to date with Supernatural, the show of lulz. IDK, I've been enjoying it pretty all right this season. This past episode, "Mommy Dearest," was actually pretty damn great. I'm kinda side eye at a 7th season renewal, but I think, more than anything, I just want Jared Padalecki to have a haircut. God, he used to be so cute in the early seasons with the bangs. I really miss those bangs. I've missed them for years now, which is... kind of a sad thing to say, but srsly. His hair is really getting progressively more and more terrible. Misha Collins gets more and more awesome. Despite how much I hate it, I've taken up the habit of calling Castiel "Cas," too. I never liked that nickname, but it's just easier to type. Anyway, I'm very intrigued to see where his storyline goes.

Saw the first ep for Game of Thrones, stopped only because I wanna build up a few eps to watch through all at once instead of waiting week to week. I really enjoyed what I saw, and the first ep is supposedly the weakest. I don't think I want to get into a critical analysis of the show -- the deal with Dany, the portrayal of the Dothraki, etc -- so my future discussion, if any, will probably avoid it. But I'm not oblivious to it.

I gave Eric Close's new show, "Chaos," a try, and lolol, canned after four episodes. Or is that three. No sad loss, despite my fondness for him. I didn't even finish the pilot. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't sparkling either. The absolute total lack of women didn't help either.

Criminal Minds has officially become Criminal Fail for me, aka, I think I now officially do not give a fuck. Sigh. It's a sad day, but it's been coming for awhile now. Even the news of AJ Cook's return does not sway me, because I have no desire to continue watching characters I love descend into hollow shells of their formerly glorious selves. Even if Paget returns, too, I don't think I can deal with it. The writers who have made these characters are all mostly gone. The actors try. Boy, do they try, but when there's nothing there on the page, there's not much they can do.

Stalled in my Seeker rewatch, right before "Denna" of all episodes. This is a pretty early stall, too, dammit. I have no attention span, which isn't news, but I paused my Farscape rewatch for a Seeker rewatch, and lolariously enough, I'm now seized with the oddest desire to rewatch X-Files. I blame it on the ONTD post about the best 20 eps, and I suddenly really wanted to rewatch some of my fave eps. I was a total X-Phile back in the day, man. My tentative shortlist right now is:

Eve
Darkness Falls
Blood
Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose
Jose Chung's From Outer Space
Paper Hearts
Bad Blood
Arcadia
Field Trip

I'll probably rewatch a few others, too. I'll see if I even manage to get through that list before I get distracted by some other shiny thing. Annnnnnnnnd, since I wrote most of this post yesterday, I have now rewatched two eps, and maaaaaaaaaaaaaan, that theme takes me back. Those are some awesome credits, I gotta say, some of the best ever. The creepy music, the surreal images, the use of the badge for credits, and of course, "The Truth Is Out There" and I used to keep such track of that tagline, because sometimes it'd change, and I'd be all af;ldjaflkdjasfd.

I'll save my talk about movies I've seen for the next post.

supernatural, game of thrones, criminal minds, tv, x-files
