OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG MY HEART. MY HEART MY HEART MY HEART.

OMG SHOW AF;LSJALDFJAL SHOW SHOW SHOW

SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW

Okay, like, I don't even know WHERE to begin, because 23947238947289432 things happened and they're all OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

1. Richard's new look, in action. I swear to god, it really isn't that I don't like it, but like I said, it's completely associated with OUR SHOW IS NOW SRS AND BADASS, which... well. The show IS becoming more srs and badass, which I don't exactly have a problem with. But it's like. Well, for one thing, RAHL'S BEEN DEAD FOR ONLY ONE FUCKING WEEK AND ALREADY RICHARD'S HAIR AND SCRUFF HAVE GROWN THAT MUCH??? R U SRS? I hate that it's basically shorthand for SRS BIZNES. I wish they'd BUILT UP to that look change, because just STARTING with it bugs me. And you know, the one thing I really loved about the first season is how GOOD Richard is, but there's also the associated factor in which he LOOKS like a total boy scout. And now he doesn't. And it just throws me. It throws me a lot. I just wanted some motherfucking TRANSITION.

2. Darken Rahl. Omg, SO glad that Rahl isn't totally gone from the show, because he died SUCH a lame death in the finale. For all that epic build-up, the payoff was a bit of a letdown, so I'm glad he's still hanging around, being evil and British. Plus I've grown REALLY fond of Craig Parker, so I'm pleased that he'll be sticking around. Also: XDDDDDDDDDDDDDD @ show starting with nekkid Darken Rahl. Pls to have more mansploitation on this show, kthnx.

3. Cara. She grew on me. I didn't like her in the S1 finale. But she was pretty hardcore and rather intriguing. Don't get me wrong, I STILL WANT DENNA. WHERE'S DENNA? I'd trade Cara for Denna in a heartbeat. But I can live with having Cara around.

4. Charisma Carpenter. Haha, sorry, she was pretty useless in this episode. I suppose she added genre cred to the show, which is nice, but I'd MUCH rather have Lucy Lawless show up, and Lucy would be about 16 billion times more cred. C'mon, Tapert. Get your wife on the show, jeez. I'm glad the very hyped lesbian kiss was stupendously unsexy, just as it should be, what with the implied sexual coercion and all.

5. Richard is a Rahl. Man, they threw that out there FAST, but I guess it makes sense. Except for the part where it kinda doesn't. I don't know. I feel like they kinda missed the boat there, but at the same time, I can understand how they can't drag that shit on either. But it's like... S1 was the golden opportunity. In the book, Darken Rahl is Richard's father. And that's classic hero's journey for you: the overthrow of the father by the boy in his transition from youth to manhood. They didn't go there in S1, but they hinted familial connection in "Fever" when Rahl pretended to be Richard's brother for amnesiac Jennsen, except that was so lowkey that you're not sure if that's supposed to imply anything at all.

And now, it's like, okay, they confirm that Richard and Darken Rahl are brothers, and it's such an anti-climatic reveal. Because surprise!familial connection happens at the EPIC BATTLE. Hello, "Luke, I am your father." IT DIDN'T HAPPEN HERE. So I can't help but feel let down that they didn't tell the story like the story ought to be told.

With that said, I do LOVELOVELOVE that they touched on the omgwtfery of Richard being the Seeker and a Rahl at the same time. I REALLY HOPE THIS ISN'T THE LAST OF IT. Because it was MESSY and UGLY and PROBLEMATIC and I'd be sorely disappointed if we don't see this developed further. Because oh my god, my heart. When the resistance and the D'Harans fought each other, and the resistance guy is like WHAT THE SHIT at the D'Haran calling Richard "Lord Rahl." When the Lieutenant guy goaded Richard, and RICHARD SMASHED HIM IN THE FACE TO SHOW DOMINANCE. They teased about 2934728934 million things with this, AND THEY JUST BETTER FUCKING DELIVER, and I had about 5 heart attacks, because I was like, "omgomgomg don't tell me show!Richard is turning into book!Richard, that would suck hardcore." I hate book!Richard. He's such a crazy motherfucker and not even in an interesting sort of way, but at the same time, there IS really really delicious storytelling opportunities there (which Goodkind fucking MISSES the boat on in favor of his misogynistic rape fantasies). Because omg the juggle there. Being a Seeker and being a Rahl. SRSLY SHOW PLZ DON'T DROP THE BALL ON THIS. I WILL FUCKING CRY. CRYYYYYYYYYYYY.

6. The prophecy thing. Which IDK. They're still taking stuff from the books, but in a way that's totally weird and unexpected, so I have NO IDEA where they're going and what they're doing. But I'm totally like SUCKED IN, because wtfwtf prophecy. BUT I DON'T TRUST SHOTA. But like like, idk idk. So the Seeker will succeed, but Richard Rahl will fail, therefore Zedd should name a new Seeker, is that it? But it's not like they haven't averted Shota's visions before. She said she had a vision of the prophecy? I'M SO KONFOOSED. Wait she says she read it in the hall of prophecy. WHAT HALL OF PROPHECY? Did she have a vision of THAT? Because Shota is so reliable, you know. Urgh, that whole scene was just confusing. Or maybe it's 2am. WHY AM I EVEN GOING ON AND ON ABOUT THIS? -____________-

I WANT MORE SHOW. RIGHT NOW. URGH I HATE WAITING WEEK TO WEEK. THIS SUCKS ASS.
