It was a busy dream. Lots to do. things that I recall:
In an office setting, which felt like it was part of a large structure, maybe a high rise, I was working with a few people (on what, I no longer recall). I was working behind a long curving desk that was meant for customer service. I was walking away when this dark skinned woman I don't recognise said to me "They let me go. But that's alright. I didn't like this job anyhow. I'm happy to be leaving. I'm going to go back to school." I feel like I said something non-committal.
It was a massive structure. Like a shopping mall, automobile show room, public resources (a Library) and residential all packed together. The reason I was there has since escaped me. I was riding an automated shuttle car through the place. The exit in the library was evidentially my destination. I had a sheet of paper, may be it was a wrapper, I don't know. What I clearly remember is wadding up the paper and throwing it at a garbage can. I used the word at, just now, because it didn't go in. It bounced off a tough looking character wearing blacks and leathers. The balled up bit of paper rolled forward across the startled fellow on to the table in front of him and a handful of other similarly dressed fellows. One of them slapped it away reflexively, hitting a man dressed the same but with a helmet and hardened facemask. I apologized and tried to recover the paper but the tram car did not stop so I awkwardly shouted at them. They didn't seem upset, only startled.
I stepped off the tram at a very wide wall of glass and automatic doors. There were people of average appearance coming and going at an seemingly even rate. A woman walking along side me as I headed to the exit was talking to another person about something (how to raise a child?). She felt familiar but I couldn't be sure, I continued walking. Outside it was late day or early morning. The sky was full of clouds, greys and rusty red highlights. The air felt good against my face as I left the conditioned interior. For quite some distance were a sea of cars. Beyond them were two monolithic buildings and little else. I had the impression that I needed something from the one on the right.
Maybe there was some kind of gun fight... I don't recall anything else.
