Philly and the burbs

Jul 26, 2005 22:09

I got a late start to this past weekend, but despite that it was one of greatest weekends I’ve had in a while.
Movie night was awesome and Lauren, Kim, and I played Katamari Damacy and watched The Cat Returns on my Mac after Kim got done being frustrated by it and my iTunes, lol. Sarah was greatly missed, but perhaps we can make up for it with Batmaning next Friday.

I got to Jo’s house around 8pm WITHOUT getting lost!!! We went right into town and hung around and got Rita’s ice for free because she works there and sat and talked about many things after purchasing our March of the Penguin(s) tickets. After we were done inducing brain freeze we still had 30 min to kill before the movie so we went back to her house so she could go pee, lol.
When we got back into town we got the same parking space and as we walked to the theater we watch some moron in a truck drive over a curb/island. It was bizarre. Inside the theater we got free candy (Jo got gummy bears and I got raisinets ^^) because her friend John works there, and he is awesome. The movie itself was awesome, even more so than John...which is hard to do with that free candy and all… The plight/ pilgrimage of these penguins is so intense, and the penguins are so cute : )
Afterwards, on the walk to the car I couldn’t resist walking up and down the steps in front of this church that go parallel to the sidewalk and Jo had to do it too. Then we waddle raced back to the car. From there we went to TGIF and got jack daniel’s sesame chicken strips and drew things in my tiny sketchbook and on napkins. Once we got home from that we stayed up talking until about 3 am when I decided it better to go to the other room so we could both have some rest for the next day.
Highlights:
-“we trade food with the Chinese”
-“friends that squeegee are friends for life”
-penguins for jo
-peeps to Chewbacca

The next morning Jo woke me up-thankfully she knows me well enough that she woke me up twice, lol-and I showered and we had donuts for breakfast before heading out to our cars to go our separate ways for the day (she was going to see Indigo Girls in Jersey). I had to call Shelzer(Iche) before I left and Jo was gracious enough to wait and let me borrow her cell while I pulled out my laptop to look up Shelzer’s number. Yah know as much as she likes Shelzer.. Iche rolls off the tongue easier so now she’s stuck with it. XD But back to the weekend, I think I woke her up, or at least that’s what she sounded like, lol.
I got lost on the way there and stopped at a cheap Sunoco to ask for directions and the manager and some other lady were trying to give me new directions and eventually the manager just let me follow her to Allegany… she was a life saver. I went to give her money for helping me, because I was insanely thankful and she refused, saying, “When I get lost in your town, you’ll help me out.” I don’t even think she knows where I’m from. Some people are so awesome. Thank you Sunoco Lady… whoever you are.
When I got to Iche’s I parked around the corner and walked to her house. The door was open and I cautiously called “Iche?” as I passed the screen door and let it “clack” behind me. She stood up from the couch half in slow motion but coming out of it and we greeted with a hug after she stifled a comment about how short I am. I met her mom who was trying on new outfits (she explained that she had just lost weight) and that we had to wait to go to South Street until her dad came home because he wanted to met me. Both of her parents look really young, especially her dad... who wasn’t her biological dad, but still. They were nothing like I expected them to look, lol. Her dad is a riot and I could watch the two of them bicker for the whole day, haha, but eventually we had to go. At my car I flaunted my shortness by climbing to the driver’s seat from the back after retrieving CDs from my bag. we ended up listening to her music on the way down, a mix of techno and punk, so good.

South Street was really cool. We went into this comic shop and she watched me drool for about an hour, lol. We also went to The Mood and Condom Kingdom where I was explaining lubes (just from what I’ve researched and read up on them not from personal experience). We also went around sniffing the candles at The Mood, she likes vanilla and I like cinnamon or fruit.
After walking the length of South Street we went to this piercing parlor on the length back called Infinite. It looked the cleanest and best of the few places that were all bunched up in that corner. The girls inside were cute and piercing a plenty, lol. The one Asian girl, (and the cutest one there, I think) was very up front about explaining to Iche that her belly button just wasn’t built for a second piercing; it was too flat. So I teased her about it, very much jokingly… cause, well, who am I to talk, haha. Anyways, after taking a walk outside to discuss it with her mom over the phone and then with one of the cute girls behind the counter she decided to knock out two piercing and get an industrial.
The piercer was awesome. She was really friendly and from San Francisco, I think. I wish she were a regular piercer because I want her to be the one to pierce me whenever the heck I get up the nerve to, lol. (Iche keeps pointing out about how I’m more into getting a tattoo, which requires repeated “piercings” than just getting one piercing. My logic goes “it’s a smaller needle!”) The two of them talked about other piercings which I think got lead to from talking about gynecologists and so now Iche is going to get her hood pierced on Friday… too bad I can’t be there for her, lol. Anyways, she swore she was going to break my hand or thought she had during the second hole, but she was far from it.

Afterwards we were both starving so we ducked into Johnny Rockets for “lunner.” She ordered chicken wings, a float, and onion rings (slap on the wrist), and I countered with a hamburger and a vanilla shake to tempt her, lol. Sure enough it worked, haha. I offered her some whipped cream and she asked, “Do I get to lick it off your finger?” To which I promptly nodded and sputtered out something like “yeah.”
When we go to the point of breaking out our straws it was a catastrophe of sorts, not really, neither of our attempt to hit the other with the wrapper worked and my attempt to throw mine at her concluded with it zipping over her left shoulder and onto the ground behind her, nearly missing our waitress. I mumbled a red faced “I’m sorry about that.” And our blue-eyed waitress said “Hey I don’t have to sweep the floors.” And we had a nice little laugh.
Once we had stuffed our faces enough and got to talking Iche brought up her boyfriend, whom I honestly didn’t know existed, but, after she described how she felt about boyfriends, left my outlook the same as before. To her boyfriends aren’t serious relationship material, just boy toys. To her girls are meant for long lasting and committed relationships or more of lovers. She swears she doesn’t care about cheating on boys but would never dare cheat on a girl.
Once we had finished Iche asked me for a quarter, but I didn’t have one so she told me not to worry about it and paid for our “lunner.” I asked if it included the tip and she looked at me with the “you’re asking me to try and do MATH!?” look and I took the receipt and left a nice tip, which I derived from my insane-o math skillz, while she went to the bathroom to wash up. After I made sure she didn’t leave anything behind I attempted to sneak up on her in the bathroom, but the mirror was right there. I greeted her and went to wash up my greasy burger hands and when she was done she came over and put her arms around me… If I blushed my skin would’ve “caught like wildfire, like there was no need for the sun.” Her skin was SO soft. I wanted to stay there like that until we were forced to leave by the presence of someone else, but something compelled us to go.

We walked back to the car from the restaurant and right when we had started on our way to look for this Gay bookstore Iche got a call from Catherine, who was taking care of Kali. I had forgotten to tell her that Kali can wait until about midday to go out, because she’s used to sleeping in late with me, and Catherine wasn’t home til midday and had sent Natalie over to let Kali out. Kali, who has only met Natalie once, freaked out and was a mess and wouldn’t go outside and had her tail between her legs… I felt horrible. My poor little puppy! I calmed down Catherine and called Reuven and asked him to go over and handle the situation, which he was glad to do. I owe him big-time.
At the site of my computer (which I used to retrieve phone numbers) Iche asked if there was anywhere with wireless internet that she could use to check her myspace. So we headed off to starbucks, and although it ended up being a flop and you have to pay mucho bucks for wi-fi. On the good side she got to have Izze as we split a Pear one between the two of us so as not to feel guilty about the internet before we found out it wasn’t free.

At around 5:30 we headed back to her house and she pointed out the space right in front of her house… I parked around the corner. She was about to get out of the car, but I was like " 'ey! Where're you goin?" and gave her puppy eyes until she said something like “Is this what you want?” and kissed me. It was intense and I damned the layout of front car seats with the island in between. I kept melting-pulling back and looking at her while biting my lip and suppressing giggles of joy. During one of my melts I had my head on her shoulder and she nipped at my ear, which made it much worse, lol. I would’ve nipped back if I wasn’t worried about her newly pierced ear. After a few minutes we finally got out of the car and joked about how her rents would ask why I was so floaty as I tried to compose myself on her front steps.
I meet her sister and we hung out there with her dad and eventually her boyfriend and his best friend, who may love batman as much as me, and Iche, haha. I introduced her to the use of violence as a means of relieving sexual tension. If it lasted me a month with a straight girl (who now wont even talk to me) it could last us a few hours. She stole my shoes and I raced after her down the sidewalk in my socks until she ran out of her shoes and we traded back. There was arm punching and more spurts of shoe stealing and strength challenging and for the most part I proudly held my own, minus one quick death to which I realized right before it happened that I had made the stupidest maneuver and shame my past karate teachings (all from elementary school mind you).
When it was 8:30 it was time for me to leave for home and I gave her dad a hug and said goodbye to everyone else. She walked me to my car and we hugged tightly before standing back. She went to walk back to her house and I stopped her an mouthed the words “goodbye kiss.” She wrinkled her brow and her eyebrows arched in a regretful apology as she said, “I can’t.” I sighed and we waved goodbye. I pulled over at the stop sign next to her house where her dad and she waved me over and after he made sure I knew how to get back to 95 we said goodbyes again and her friend who likes batman shouted, “I love you!” So I had no choice but to shout back, “I love you, too, man!” I heard a “Hey!” from Iche and stopped on the other side of the intersection to reassure her with an, “ And I love you too,” before finally driving away.
The drive home wasn’t too bad, just a little bit of traffic, mostly into Baltimore and I was home before midnight. Kali was fine and glad to see me.

And that, my friends, was my weekend in Philly.
