So the past weekend has totally turned my world upsidedown.

It's rediculous how much of a mental brakedown a job offer can be. The job I speak of as many of you well know is a Resident Assistant Position in the YMCA on 47th Street on the East side.
The Plus Sides:
+Free Housing (estimated worth $10,000)
+$2500 towards tuition
+Getting to be an RA and the experiences that entails (priceless)
+Free monthly unlimited metro card
+5 Floors of gym and free exercise classes

The Minus Side:
-being 24 blocks from school and community
-teeny as fucking tiny room
-shared bathrooms (that smell a bit like pee)
-shared kitchen (without an oven)
-no trees
-horrible desk and tiny bed
-less time for Cartoon Allies and Thesis
-going somewhere entierly foriegn from someplace that feels almost exactly like home.

The first one and last two of the minus side were the most likely to make me not accept the position, but I have bitten the bullet. I am now the official RA of the YMCA 6th Floor. Yay to taking chances and leaps of faith in oneself to adapt.
