On an earlier post I talked about a house I was going to look at.
Well, I looked at it. I just don't know if the house is "worth it". The asking price is 165k. It has a beautiful yard on the river with a boat dock and gorgeous balcony and patio. The yard is nearly worth it...
The house, eh, average. Not bad by any stretch of the imagination. Its a standard mid-entry. 1800 sq feet, 3 bedroom 2.5 bath. Everything in the house was neutral (im sure intentional by the owners so people can change it to their own liking) but it was SO neutral I can't even begin to see how I would be in it.
It's all about the layout. 1800 sq feet is plenty for me and Ash... but it felt small. It wasn't, but there didn't seem to be any 'extra' getaway type place. I could have my bedroom, Ashton's and my office... and then use the downstairs family room area as his game room/fun area... but there wasn't a lot of room for growth.
Plus... i love my curtains, I know that sounds silly, but I love my curtains. There wasn't a single room in this house that had windows for my curtains. Or at least not that I could visualize.
There is also the extreme possibility that I am being negative about the floor plan because I am afraid to commit to a large mortgage. There is a certain freedom that comes from month to month rental with a kick ass landlord.
Here's a link to the... the pictures don't do the back yard or balcony and patio justice.
