I had my interview this afternoon/evening. I feel like it went well. It lasted an hour and 20 minutes. I refuse to completely get my hopes up... but I do have high hopes. Not that I think I will get this o-so-lovely position... but I hope.
The benefits are *free*... it is standard Blue Cross Blue Sheild plan, and to keep the cost low they only option they offer is with a $1000 deductible. Which seems like it bites ass, BUT... because this bites ass, they give every employee a health reimbursement account for $1000 each year. So in essence the deductible is zero. They said you could use your HRA for dental or vision services, because they DONT have those options, but then if you had high medical expenses with deductible services (ie, not well care visits) then you would be responsible. Basically you are in control of your $1000 however you choose to use it. But its there. I like that, I would rather no out of paycheck expense. Because after the $1000 ded it is good coverage. My premium at CAMC is more then 1k per year, so I think it is worth it.
The travel reimbursement is .43 per mile, based on the national average. Not too bad... not great, but not bad.
The job requirements itself. Katie.Is.Scared. It is way more computer/techie then nursing. But the software is the only hurdle, because EVERYTHING that I would be doing would be around that software. AND... NONE of them are using it yet. The trainers from California are not coming in to train ANYONE on its use until they have filled this position... so I would be learning right with everyone else. That made me a lot less nervous.
The woman I had the phone interview with, the Project Manager, was who I met with this evening. She was very nice. When the interview was over she asked the CEO to come in and speak with me. He did. He asked me several straight forward questions and I feel like I nailed them all. At one point he asked me to explain what I had done professionally to date... and I gave a brief description of my nursing career as well as my background in insurance. He looked at Vivian (the PM) and said "Oooh, she could head the billing segment of the EHR and do training"... but then he went all normal again and just proceeded with the questioning.
When the whole process was through she asked me to email her my references, and said she hoped to have final position and training dates decided upon within the next few weeks. The plan is to go live at the first community health center sometime in March... so it is a bit rushed around there.
I am nervous about my references, because I haven't told CAMC I am considering leaving... so I am scared to have them call. But I can't NOT list it... because... well... its my job.
All in all I feel like I gave the best interview possible, if I don't get the job, it wasn't for a lack of trying.
