Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes! *smooches* It's been a good day - despite the fact that I had to take a Calculus test today. ;) My parents and sisters came up on Saturday, and we went out to eat. I got a new container for my fishy, so now there's lots of room to swim in. :D Of course, after my family left to drive home and I got ( Read more... )

should I have iced it or something?

Yes. The standard treatment for any sprain is ICE - Ice, Compression, Elevation. So ice it, wrap a compression bandage around it, and keep it elevated.

Even more strangely, my laptop worked, and it was plugged into the same power strip as the alarm.

Because it was likely running off the battery, which would allow it to work regardless of whether you had power?

But what about R - rest? ;) I do know what you're supposed to do, I just...am not very good at doing it. Heh. It was only a mild sprain, though, so the swelling wasn't too bad, and it's better now. :)

Ha. *snerk* I've kept my laptop plugged in for so long, I'd forgotten that it runs on a battery, too. Thank you, Robert - certainly gets that mystery off my mind. Leave it to you to see something that I've so stupidly missed. *g*

But my roommate's clock was working. So I'm not totally crazy. ;)

I guess if you have your ankle elevated, it's not really like you're going to be running around the place, now is it?

I think you must have had a brown out though, and not a black out. It reduces the power without losing it completely. Sometimes only certain things are affected. Weird though, for sure.

I elevated it (kind of) when I was sitting at the computer. But I just seemed to hurt it more when I was running around. *g*

I'm not sure, but it was NOT fun being in the shower when that happened. ;)

I wonder why. How did you get into Uni again?

it was NOT fun being in the shower when that happened.

I can't imagine the water instantly froze as there must be a hot water reserve. I can see what you mean though.

Well, I don't mean that I was running around EVEN THOUGH it hurt...I mean that I managed to (unintentionally) hurt myself whenever I was running around. ;) More so than if I weren't moving, at least. :D

It wasn't so much the water as "Ahhh! The lights!!!" *g*

[facepalm]

"Ahhh! The lights!!!"

Well, I can see how that might make it difficult to get the soap out of your hair.

*whistles innocently* I've sprained it worse before. And not because I kept running around. ;) But there's just a teensy bit of swelling left, so it's on the mend! :)

Well, I can see how that might make it difficult to get the soap out of your hair.

Especially if you've watched a lot of horror movies and the lights suddenly go out. *g*
