mmmmmm eggnog. =)
okay, quick holiday season rant brought on by the ever annoying Bell Mobility commercials. Why do holiday commercials, and the holiday itself, focus solely on people being "good" to each other. "this holiday season show someone you care" "we are all connected" ahhh, look at the man holding the subway door for the nice old lady. WTF?!! Shouldn't we be doing these things all the time? Do we need a fucking holiday season to tell us? Come on, really, this message should be put out all the time, maybe then we would be in a better state of affairs. Peace on earth and good will toward man does not end after new years so that we can wait until the following december to be reminded how important it is. Maybe I am way off base here, but I have yet to see commercials that promote this message except those that come out during christmas. Everyone all cheery with christmas bags in hand, smiling that vacuous smile that is only brought forth through the soul crushing action of consumerism. And on their festive pilgrimage home through the seven circles of christmas shopping hell they are constantly watching for that "good deed" they can do so they will truly know what christmas is all about.
I am sure Jesus would be really proud to know that his death brought so much joy to the global economy. "god bless us everyone"
