I know i said i would post an update on my whereabout but i just can't be bothered. To recap everything that has been going on over the past couple of weeks would take quite the large journal entry to fill. So, i will sum it up quite succinctly...things have been going well, busy, but well. I am happy with the direction my life is taking me and I am looking forward to the future. Work is going great, we have tested over 400 applicants only to be able to get 85 people moved on to the interview stage. Crazy stuff. But it is amazing how there is an exact science behind the whole attrition rate. It seems to consistently stay at around 50% to 60%, at each stage: fitness, written test, interview, background check. We have been testing these applicants for a class starting in october, a class of 24. And that the way things are going right now we may not get enough people to fill the class. But a lot of the applicants bring it on themselves. People showing up who have never done any physical fitness in their life. People showing up who have no idea what the job they have applied for entails. And we make it clear to them when we book them for their fitness test that they will be required to run, do push ups, curl ups, and flexibility tests. And they all say 'oh ya no problem'. And then they show up and it is like WOW!! Thinking you are fit and knowing you are fit are two completely different things. I mean, i had one guy who had never done a push up in his life. Not even one!! And i have been shocked at the overall lack of fitness that a lot of the young applicants have shown. People in their mid twenties who can't even do twenty pushups (guys that is). And then today we had a 60 year old chap who was extremely fit, except for his cardio..he failed the run portion..which was shame, i was really rooting for him and trying to encourage and motivate him. But i told him although he failed he should still be proud of his accomplishment. I wish i look like him when i hit 60. =)

and that is things in a nutshell. As usual, i rambled on. but now i gotta jet. Dinner needs to be prepared. mmmmm steak.
