How'sa 'Bout Some Pride Weekend!!!

Jun 27, 2006 11:37

Hi all. It's Tuesday now and I'm still tired from my weekend at Pride in SF. While I have nothing crucial to do at work at the moment I thought I'd perhaps talk a bit about it:

~Before We Got There~

Saturday Sean and I laid in bed ALL day practically. We were a bit tired from the night before and just didn't want to do anything. Around 6 or 7 pm, although, Sean looks at me and says "why don't we just go?" SO I called up a few friends to see if anyone had a place for us and lo and behold my good ol' MySpace buddy Spencer and his man Mikey had room! So in no time flat, we were on our way.

~Pink Party~

If you've never been to an SF Pink Party before it's an experience to behold. Imagine a sea of people in the city streets dancing and drinking and having a grand time! That's exactly what it is. Sean had never been to a Pink Party before, but you better believe he fit right in. Not but a moment after we found a place to hang out did we start drinking and lighting up (bare in mind that I was pretty much fucked up the whole weekend!). We beheld wonders unbelievably misplaced from standard society. There were naked old men, fabulous drag queens, cracked out twink boys, leather abroad, a big screen showing all kinds of unmentionable acts, hash brownies, drunken topless girls and much much more!

Only one moment of that evening went badly but fortunately did not last long. I shall not say what about, but if you ask I'll kindly tell you.

We did not get to sleep until about 4:30am. Not before watching post-hashout cartoons on cable TV. Can you say "Chuck Norris" cartoon?!

~The Parade~

After not too much sleep, we were awoken by a phone call from Sean's mom. She was there and ready to meet up with us. Instantly we had to get up, get ready and go. It didn't take long to find her. She had brought her friend Denise and Denise's daughter Carly. Denise was a crack-up! I hope I get to see more of that woman in the future. Anyway, the parade went on much like last year. This time I got lots of pictures though. Sean and I even got a picture of us making-out in front of the protestors. It was awesome; can't wait 'til it's developed! They were passing out condoms along with the parade. Sean's mom grabbed one and said, "here Sean, you can have this." Later Sean told me he was shocked....but at least his mom acknowledges that he has a sex life haha.

Anyway, standing in the Sun for three or four hours, you KNOW I have a wicked sunburn right now. Ohh!

~Post-Parade Wandering~

After the parade Sean's mom treated us to an awesome lunch at a 50s diner. The food was SOOOO good! After lunch the ladies decided to take off leaving Sean and I to our own vices. We called up Spencer and Mikey and met up to hang out a bit more. Traveled to some boths (Sean wanted to make his way to leather alley, which we did) and finally make our way back to the hotel room for some relaxation and then to get ready to leave. On our way back Sean and I each got our own little souvenirs. Sean got a spike stud for his lip piercing. I got a glass ring with a gold swirl embedded in it.

~Aftermath~

Altogether it was a great experience. No offense to members of the party involved, but this year TOPS last year by far! I hope to get to do it again in the future as well as continue a friendship with Spencer and Mikey. Love ya' guys!
