It occured to me today, reading about the continued disintegration or Iraq as it falls into civil war, that all that separates us that opposed the war in the first place from the blame for everything that went wrong in the war is the passge of time. Just as the faliure to win the Vietnam War was because of the peaceniks (as opposed to the poor tactics and leadership and abuse and subsequent alienation of the local population) and Senator McCarthy being an American Hero, I can't envisage a future where the 'Right Wing Mythology' doesn't apportion the blame for faliure squarely on us.
