The United States of Uhh-merica

Last night I watched Mike Judge's movie Idiocracy
it takes place in the future mostly, a very differnt kind of future than Mad Max or Blade Runner....and is about the idea that dumb people are breeding at an alarming rate while intelligent people are not

I think one of my favorite ideas is that in the future, on the violence channel there's a show called "ow, my balls" and there is no plot, but the main character just keeps getting it in the sack. It's not the best movieever... looks like there were some "Brazil" type problems going on... but the social satire aspect of it is quite amusing indeed.

This was my favorite throwaway visual joke that they never mentioned and was only on screen for a quick establishing shot for the hospital scenes:

I had to pause the movie cause I thought it was so funny and quick... but then I'm a graphic design nerd, so maybe it's funnier to me than non designers.

Trivia time:
The script title was originally "The United States of Uhh-merica"

Unsure of how to market the film after disastrous test screenings, Fox sat on the near-completed film for over a year, before finally giving it an unusually small release in only 6 minor markets (skipping over major markets such as New York City). The release was done with little to no marketing- there weren't even posters made for the release.
