(no subject)
Ok, so I kinda forgot I had this journal. I guess it's a vestige of a different part of my life, so I just stopped reading/writing as often.
A shitload of stuff has happened since I last updated. In brief: graduated, got married, became a dad (legally, not biologically), moved away from home, got a job.
Right now, Shari and I are living in east-central Charlotte. I'm a 10th grade English teacher at East Mecklenburg High, starting classes next week. Generally speaking things are great, though money's a little tight right now. I've done a shitty job (as expected) of keeping up with Sewanee friends so far, though a lot of guys came down for the wedding and were Herculean in helping me get moved. I'm drinking a lot less and I've stopped smoking altogether except when I'm really stressed (for that matter, I only ever smoked when I was really stressed, which was constantly for about a year). My family has been really supportive, Shari's finally found the strength to tell her mother to get out of her life, and both family and friends on either side have been helping us at every turn. I have no complaints.
If there's anyone left reading this thing, I hope you are all well. I can't promise I'll update much more, but that doesn't mean I don't drop by occasionally and read what's going on with you guys.
