You know what? Screw you. I've tried to smooth things over after that little tiff. I apologized, I bowed and scraped to make it up to you - and you said things were fine.
Except you forgot to mention the little thing called 'I don't want to talk to you ever again.' No, you just avoid me, and refuse to acknowledge me in conversations we're both involved in, and generally pretend everything is, on face value, fine. The sad thing is, I would have been fine with it had you just said that's what you wanted. No, really. I would have shrugged, given you a mental 'fuck you' and walked away. That's it.
But no, you refuse to acknowledge me, *and* the part you played in what happened. Do I have part of the blame? Yes, of course. I've admitted that, and apologized many, many times over. But it takes two to tango, sweetheart, and in *this* tango you were just as much of a partner as I was. You just haven't, and, I assume, won't acknowledge that.
Again, not something I would have an issue with...except, you know. The 'Ignoring me in conversations we're both in' bit. I'm sorry, but *that* is an uncalled for low, particularly when the original issue is something that, as a whole, wouldn't register as a freaking *bump* for most people. Not to mention it's excessively rude, and, let's be honest here, puts our mutual friends in an awkward position. I'm also getting a little tired of it, when it would just be easier for all involved in the few times we do need to interact, we could just be civil with each other and go our separate ways afterwards.
So yes, if you keep this up much longer I will confront you about it. I doubt anything will come of it, but I want to make one last attempt at reaching some level agreement about being polite when we see each other. Of course, if what I fear happens Saturday does, in fact, happen, then it's a moot point anyways...but if that happens then screw it. I'm packing my metaphorical bags and going home.
