"And in life, dont wait for empathy, pick yourself up and move on."
I read this somewhere and it really hit home. I've always lamented about people not being able to empathize...but the truth is, the majority of people won't. It's a hard truth but after all, that's how the world works isn't it?
I also read another quote,
"You don't care about me. You only care about me in relation to yourself."
People are selfish, I am selfish, and of course in the end I'm the one who's going through my life while the rest are going through their own. Of course they will be selfish. That's what life is about. Survival of the fittest. It's nature.
Now all I need to do is try to care less about this fact. I need to be able to pick myself up and move on. I need to have a stronger skin.
But I also have to remember to care.
