A hard week that ends tonight

Aug 14, 2007 22:44

So, a week ago tomorrow started "a hard week" with my Gramps dying and asthma flaring up. Anyway, to bid that bad week farewell I thought I would reflect on some of the more surreal, strange, and less sad moments. It is all to easy to stay depressed, and I need to get my head out of the grey and move back into the functional, ya dig?

Surreal:

The Racine coroner drives a "stow and go minivan"

Kitten heels make you skitter like a kitten...

The honor guard aimed at the casket and family during the 21 gun salute

Strange:

It takes four foils to highlight my bangs, approximately 2' of hair across my forehead

Gaia knew to say goodbye to my Grandfather at the funeral. She said, "Goodbye Gramps" and cried. I thought she would be too little to understand.

One of my friends is a funeral stalker...

Less sad:

G: Did you know that the lady GK writes about is NOT Valerie Bertanelli?
J: Yeah, that's not even her last name
G: I know that now! Hey, isn't Valerie Bertanelli famous for being married to Eddie Vedder?
J: *slaps forehead* Do you mean Eddie Van Halen?
G: Um, yeah...people shouldn't have such similar names.

I had an asthma attack from laughing too hard during the "Flava Flav" roast.

Garth Nix, is a good young adult fiction author. I have enjoyed Sabriel, Lireal, and Abhorssen

Hey jazz7471, if you read this: is the open invitation to the Friday game still open?
I need to get out of the house.
