Nothing reminds you that winter can't last forever like the sound of 2 feet of snow and ice slowly melting, so that it sounds like it's raining, even though the sky is clear and blue.
Perhaps not coincidentally, nothing reminds you that it is, in fact, still February, and winter is still more than capable of kicking your ass, like stepping in what looks like an innocent puddle, only to realize it's really a quarter inch of water sitting on top of 3 inches of ice.
On a totally unrelated note, my knee hurts.
