This happened yesterday. 135 miles of driving is a lot. Worst is I only covered a small triangle of driving ground at best.
So I went to school down in Warwick to pick up my equipment for my Match.com commercial shoot. I had to get a trolley for all the stuff I had: 1 Panasonic DVX-100 Camcorder, 1 Tripod, 1 ARRI Pro Lighting Kit with 3 lights and stands, 1 Shotgun Mic, 1 XLR Cable, and 1 Mic Stand. And so after a quick loadup it was off to Nicolle's pad in Providence to film.
I got there alright, though carrying the light kit up the stairs could have given me a heart attack. Setting up the scenery took me around an hour because I was having a problem with the camera and mic, but I eventually fixed all that. After rearranging some furniture to pretend the kitchen was a cafe, I got the shoot done in 30 minutes. That was fun. Just when I was about to go home, Scott called to ask if I wanted to play minigolf.
As it turned out he was gonna show Harold what NEIT was like, so rather than going to Warwick, I went all the way back to Woonsocket first to get them. I stopped at the ATM at CVS to get money, but dammit it was broke. So then I got to Scott's and quickly enough, we left for NEIT again. Sort of, Scott forgot we were driving there and took 146 on accident, so we got caught up in traffic on 95.
We got there eventually and after returning equipment and a quick tour, we were out of there and on our way to Seekonk. We missed the exit to get onto 95 twice and had to backtrack. We eventually got there and decided to do Go Karts first. Long story short, I won first place, although I started at 3rd. When we left to go play minigolf we found out it was closed (it was raining out). So after a bunch of calls and a few sets of directions later, we went off the check out Monster Mini-golf instead.
It was exciting when we found it, and cheesy as it was (it's an indoor course, dimly lit, glo in the dark area with statues of monsters and no hills) it was a tough course and we had a lot of fun. Afterwords, we spotted a pool table and while Harold and Scott played that, I decided to hit the pinball machine. I won a free game twice for beating the re-play score. On my third replay some kid was staring at it waiting so I let him have the game instead. Then Scott challenged me to Air Hockey, it was a good match when we weren't making stupid errors, and the final score was 3-7, I lost.
When we got out, HOLY CRAP a rainbow! We took pics because it wasn't every day you see a real rainbow. Hahaha. Day wasn't over yet! After this we went to Ponderosa for dinner. We took 95 up to route 1A in South Attleboro and chowed. Then we went home, STILL not over yet. We drove to my house to get my laptop, went to Hollywood Video to pick up Encino Man, then begrudgingly went back to my house when they decided to rent F&F: Tokyo Drift and I told them I already had it.
And so we watched Tokyo Drift and I worked on my proposal for freelance class. I was pretty tired at the end of the day so then I left just as they started the other movie. I crashed as soon as I got home and hit the bed. Yeah, awesome.
