Two Days Interning

Oct 21, 2008 23:56

So, as an intern I've written the script for CD/DVD/VG releases for the CW28 Vodcast, digitized a set of the Boss's footage, did some scanning and photoshop cropping, and then sat in on a production of the Mayor's show. The mayor of Providence came in to interview a woman on recycling. The mayor is not the highlight of this story. The woman is.

Her name is Daisy, and she's the Recycling Coordinator of the City of Providence. Pretty serious business. She complimented me on my shoes, I said she was wearing a nice ensemble. After her talk with the mayor on the show (her first time being on TV), she had to jet and they didn't need me so I left at the same time. She actually asked me to walk and talk with her as we left the building, asking me stuff about me and my internship. Now, call me crazy but I saw a spark of interested there, but I didn't say anything because I was a bit intimidated by her professional appearance, possibly age, and whether or not she's taken. So I kept it to me. She said, "Whenever you're near the office..." but didn't really finish. We parted ways.

I just couldn't get over it. She has an email setup on this official Providence Recycling website. So I, along with the help of Ashley from back at RIC (she's always helped me with tha ladies), cooked up an email to send to her that encompassed who I am, my interest in recycling, and at the last part, asked her out. This has the potential to be epic.
