This live-action scenario, set in the universe of Joss Whedon’s Firefly, is centered around the remote Fringe world of Deadwood. Considered useless by all a few years ago, only a few people lived on the appropriately-named Deadwood due to its flawed terraforming. Then Laterite was discovered about a year back. Word spread to prospectors, and then the mining zaibatsu, and finally the Alliance…
So money has attracted, well, every kind of person there is. Riff-raff from both sides of the civil war: prospectors looking to get rich, nobles looking to get richer, small corporations, huge corporations, and the whores, barkeeps, pimps, politicians and hardware salesmen looking to get rich off them. Now the magistrate is coming into town and disputes have been put off for the faire. Saber duels! Bar fights! Drinking contests! Gunslinging! Well, mostly politicking, extortion, graft, and betrayal, but frontier town meetings are a little livelier than the average session of the Alliance Parliament…
