[The PDA clicks on when Alex rolls over onto it. For a while there's just darkness and a scraping noise as the virus gets up. Slowly. Unsteadily. The PDA is peeking over the side of his breast pocket, his lower torso and legs visible as he sits up. You can see the flap of his pocket occasionally getting in the way of the lens as he moves to look

Sir? I see some of the others have already mentioned me by name. I'm Allen Walker, and if you have any other questions, I'll do my best to answer them.

He's calmer now, having accepted (somewhat) his situation.]
Whatever you know, tell me. Anything about this place, or surrounding places. How this happened. Why this happened.

Not that he's going to share this with the rest of the class. At least not right now.
You can probably hear him pacing right now. Panic has returned and Alex is much closer to simply being a highly intelligent predator than a human being. The virus isn't good at planning and he knows it- he needs a steady hand to guide him to get things done. Dana, Ragland, Karen, Cross... While sometimes he'd been led wrong, or outright manipulated, the virus was well aware that his was too much of a blank slate to know what to do.]
Fine.
What...
[This is hard for him to ask. You can practically hear his teeth grinding together.]
What needs to be done?

To get out? [ so very sincerely, as though he's apologising for a personal failing (and perhaps, to Allen, it is): ] I'm sorry, we haven't found out yet. People do get sent home, but at random, and are sometimes brought back again without memories of their previous stay here.
[He straightens, setting his jaw in a determined line.]
I'm sure we'll find a way out, though. Until then, I suppose what needs to be done is to find out more information about Nesreca's past, and to look out for each other until we can all go home. [ ...speaking of. he tilts his head, obviously worried as he peers at the ( ... )

Where you think there might be some info on this place then?
[He neglects to answer the next set of questions though. His paranoia is enough to leave him not wanting company, and going to the apartments is out of the question. A wrong step and he could bring the building crashing down around everyone. It's not like he needs shelter from the elements anyway.]

Credinta is our best [ his tone makes it sound like 'only' ] option. The people there must still remember what happened here, but-[ a hitch, one that suggests whatever he's about to say next will be a supreme understatement ]-we're not very welcome there.
[ trying again, a little more insistent this time: ] Where did Libitina leave you? If you're anywhere close to the river, please be careful to stay away from it. It's been flooding a lot lately.

I should be able to get around Credinta without being noticed.
[Persistent brat... wait, water? Eww. Alex hasn't had much experience with water beyond the Hudson and whatever's in central park in the dead of autumn, but it's cold and wet and he does not like. There's a visible ripple of black and red tendrils up his body, almost like a shudder.]
Just some warehouse. Shelter or high ground shouldn't be hard to find.
Reply
[Have some rapid blinking at the tendrils and a faint crease of white eyebrows, but he doesn't comment on it.]
Maybe, but inhabitable shelter is another question. Everything's falling apart here. The apartment building where we're all staying is the only place fit to live in.

[He's saying you all look like a bunch of weirdos.]
...Fine. If it's the only inhabitable building than I'm sure I can find it.

It's in the Northen part of the city. If you can see a bridge over the river where you are, head upstream and you'll find it eventually. You're right that it isn't very hard to spot, but please don't hesitate to ask us for help if you can't find it.

Uh...
[Dead fucking silence for a second. He kind of shuffles. ...What do???]
...Thanks. For the help. [He compensates for his sincerity by being extra surly!]

[Though its tinge of heartfelt sympathy deepens when Alex appears to be at a momentary loss, Allen's smile doesn't so much as waver in the face of all that staring, suggesting he is, perhaps, rather used to getting these sort of reactions.]
Ah, it's alright. Thank you for your help, sir. I saw you talking to a friend of mine― You offered to get supplies for us, right?
[Doesn't matter if Alex actually succeeds in getting them or not. To Allen, it's the sentiment that's heartening, seeing a new arrival so quick to help others trapped here despite his own predicament.
...Not that the virus may necesarily comprehend this, of course, but Allen's assuming he's talking to any old superpowered chap here.]

In other words: He doesn't get it.]
...Yeah.
[His glassy eyes shift, in that weird paranoid way, and he has an unsettling habit of not blinking. He shrugs.]
Shouldn't be hard.

I reckon you'll have a much easier time than the rest of us! But it'll still be a good idea to go with someone experienced, just in case you happen to find yourself in a tight spot.
[During his time here, Allen has dealt with (and often accommodated) all kinds of weird. In comparison, a shifty-looking guy who may understandably be feeling nervous about this whole mess seems pretty normal.]

I'll try to find someone who doesn't stick out like a sore thumb then. But if the worst Credinta can throw around is some cops, it's probably easier to just do things on my own.
[Grunt, growl, snarl snarl. Yes Alex you are rough and tough and srs bznz broody loner.]
