I'm on break from work and thought I'd update. I have a feeling this is going to be a much better week for me...I'm feeling optimistic and having a wonderful day. Work has passed fairly quickly. I'm just feeling motivated today for some reason.
I got two new CDs in the mail today. Doria Roberts' live album and Ember Swift's latest Disarming. These two CDs are sooo awesome and are the best I've bought in a long time. Ember's album has a verrry jazzy sound (I bet you'd enjoy her, Rachel. You almost sound like her ;).) She's really political too...she has this song just about marketing and commercializing water, which I think is totally awesome. Some people would be like, "WTF? A song about water?" She says at one point in the song that Fortune Magazine said that water shortage in the 21st century would be like the oil shortage we're currently experienced in the 20th century. Is that scary thought or what?? I'll pull some lyrics later from the songs to show you. They're awesome.
And Doria? Oh my goodness. I think I've found my second wife (OK, Ani is the first and always will be lol.) Listening to the live album really makes me wanna go see her live. She's effin hilarious on this CD. She's a black queer indie singer...she's awesome. Someone tell her that she's going to marry me, okay?
So go buy these CDs! They just made me forget I had a bad week last week--awesomeness. I'm smiling ear to ear today. Music saves my life, man...hehe.
