I finally got to go real live (sorta, heh) road racing this weekend.
Here's a primer if you don't know what it is. Short version is it's a 24 hour (14 hour for some tracks) race in $500 beaters. Ours was a Mazda MX3.
It is impossible to overstate how insanely fun the weekend was.

And here's the start of a sequence of pictures that shows our last driver, Dave, getting rear-ended by the '63 Fury that won the
Index of Effluency award while he was stopped on his victory lap to get the checkered flag. The Fury's brakes were about shot and he didn't see the jam up in time. Fairly fitting end, I thought.
This really is as addictive as I had feared it might be. I can't wait until I get the chance to do another one.
