life is good.
last night went really well. we did the whole obligatory dinner and a movie first date thing. everything felt kind of strange because i was a little out of my element, but at the same time it was nice to do the traditional thing: he picked me up at my apartment and drove, opened doors for me, paid for the movie. saw 'superbad' which was absolutely hilarious. extra funny because i think my date was worried about laughing sometimes because it was soooo dirty. so yes...we shall be seeing more of each other when next our schedules actually line up.
my super saturday sister play date was awesome. awesome, but we realized we build things up in our heads. margaret and i finally got to go to arcadia knitting. they didn't have as much as we thought they did and didn't make very good use of their space. the ladies who own the place are really entertaining, however. from there, we walked over into andersonville and had lunch at kopi cafe. it's been a really long time since i've been there. mmm coconut lemonade. we wandered a little bit in andersonville and then walked back to the car and drove to wicker park to look at a store called renegade handmade. again, a little bit of a let down. we thought they would have had more stuff. margaret and i are thinking of starting our own business eventually and if nothing else, seeing that store was totally reassuring that we can do awesome things. after that, hung out in barnes and noble for a little while and then drove down to uic to pick scott up from work. i like my sister.
this upcoming saturday, margaret and i are going up to madison to check out this yarn store/cafe which is something we're looking at emulating. and other fun, as well, of course. the satuday after that is both the chicago celtic festival and the renegade craft fair. and the next saturday is my nephew's 4th birthday party which will have a dinosaur theme.
lots of good things happening at once. not usually the case. hoo-ray!
