Well, I taught myself how to go into sleep paralysis at pretty much any given time. A really useless thing while being awake but interesting some times, and sometimes it's just scary :[
Basically sleep paralysis is what happens to your body when you enter REM sleep, and persists until usually when you wake up, it's primarily so your body doesn't move around a lot while dreaming so you don't hurt yourself. On rare occasions it can occur right before falling asleep (hypnagogic paralysis) or persist for a short time after waking up (hypnapompic paralysis).
If you are still awake when it happens or it is still affecting you after you wake up many interesting things can happen. One(While you are falling asleep, not waking up) being if you think about one thing and keep your mind active it will allow you to enter a lucid state of dreaming more easily. Another being it can feel like you have a heavy weight on your chest, or something pressing into your back, making it hard or impossible to breathe. One more, although less common, thing that can happen is you might see demonic figures around you, or 'Shadow people (also called shadow men, shadow folk, or shadow beings)'
lawllllllll it's pretty cool.
On a more saddening side though, I think i'm slowly losing my friends, this sucks. all them promises broken too. lawllll.
"I'll always be your friend." "I'll always be there." lawlawl etcetera etcetera
