The next couple of weeks were eventful for Peridot and the Crystal Gems. There was a drill to be built and a Cluster to be stopped, after all. And while there were hiccups - Peridot butted heads with Pearl, earned herself a short sentence being trapped in a baby harness, unwittingly insulted Amethyst, and found herself constantly repulsed by Garnet - things... started to come together.
The Steven - no, just Steven - reintroduced her to the glorious television trash that was Camp Pining Hearts.
Peridot learned that wearing shorts was fun. And that being caught wearing shorts was embarrassing.
The fusion - Garnet - offered to help Peridot understand why it was she was fused all of the time. Peridot hadn't been able to bring herself to fusing with her, herself, but... she had gained some insight into who Garnet was. As a person.
She had gained some insight into the fact that Gems could be people.
Meanwhile, unbeknownst to Peridot, the Communications Hub had done its work and had, in fact, relayed her distress call out across the universe. In fact, it had sent it even farther than that, bouncing from reality to reality through the multiverse, passing through portals as they opened, co-opting communications signals everywhere it went.
Eventually, finally, quite some time after the message had initially been sent, the message bounced its way to Fandom and its connecting realities, faint but clear, managing to take over only a few last devices before it faded away entirely, its journey done.
"This is Peridot transmitting on all frequencies from abandoned crystal system colony planet Earth, to Yellow Diamond. My mission has been compromised, my escort," she raised one finger, "and informant," she raised another, "are gone and I am now stranded! Please send help!"
Jalian
Jalian was in her room fiddling with another probe, when her phone screeched. She winced and picked it up, and Peridot's voice came through.
She frowned, listened to the whole message, then started throwing a few things together. If Portalocity wouldn't help her find Peridot, she would shake them until they did - she was not losing another friend to another stupid timeline!
Rufus
Rufus was busy negotiating things that his father and the Turks had best never find out about when his television decided to blare Peridot's voice at him.
He looked at it thoughtfully, then went back to his negotiations. He did the same thing the second time Peridot rudely inserted her message into his life.
The third time, he sighed, wrapped things up, and figured he might as well do something about it. If only to shut her up.
(Why did she keep coming to him for this sort of thing? It was unfathomable.)
He left a couple of messages for various people. Tseng got one letting him know Rufus was off to get himself killed. (Rufus did not actually know how true it was, but Tseng's predicted reaction was enough to make him leave it.)
Then he headed out, already on his PHS to Portalocity. Honestly, did he have to do everything for Peridot?
Tip
The message interrupted Tip's facetime chat home with her mom, which made for some awkward explaining when Lucy wanted to know why Tip had cut out for several seconds and come back looking wide-eyed and worried.
When Tip explained, Lucy got J.Lo on the line to consult -- his culture wasn't that close to Peridot's but it was a little bit closer than the Tuccis'. Tip didn't want to panic if this might just be Peridot overblowing a situation. She was kind of prone to hysterics, after all.
"You should to go," J.Lo said solemnly. "Evens if it is a panicking attack she wants help." He shrugged. "Go. Be her friend."
Tip smiled a little. "Yeah. I guess I kinda already knew that."
"I knows," J.Lo said, then made a shooing motion with his hand. "You are to wastings the time! Go!"
Tip went.
Anakin
Anakin rolled over to turn off the commlink and sighed heavily, then kissed Rory's cheek. "Guess I'll see you when I get back. Student in trouble, you know the drill...."
[OOC: And more of the canoning! Now with special guests Rufus, Jalian, Tip, and Anakin! IT CONTINUES. NFI because distancey things!]
