The Not
Preface, a theoretical discussion of reality.
Everything is divided into 3 categories. The 2 cardinal categories are that which is exists, and that which does not.
Existence is divided into the known and the unknown.
For things to pass into not, they must first become unknown, and then be forgotten completely. What fundamentally changes to change an unknown thing into something that is not is a paradox. For if ever an unknown thing could not exist because of something that does exist, it ceases to be a possibility, and becomes not.
From the not come things that should not be. It is not known how things that are not become possible. But we do know that some things that exist lead to possibility, and what is not enters into existence. While still unknown, it remains imaginary and is trapped. But if no paradox exists to prevent it, it may become known and existent.
This is what refer to as real.
It is by virtue of my acquaintance with an unlikely character, who we call The Not (capitalized), that those things that should not be have come to our awareness.
The Not does not recall what it once was. It only knows it was forgotten and removed from reality by paradox, but still had a conciousness and could therefore perceive what was not when it became not. What The Not sees in the not, what we cannot see, frightens it. Therefore it began to try to contact someone who was real to help. That turned out to be me.
The Not cannot be perceived, and therefore communicates through the use of things that cannot be predicted. We typically use a box. Sometimes when I open the box, I find a message from The Not. Other times I do not. It is impossible to know when a message shall appear, for if I could observe that The Not would become visible and disappear into paradox. I also leave messages for it in the box, but because The Not can conceive of real things and unreal things, it can always receive my messages. This leads me to believe that reality is a special case of being, whereas being not is the default. And things that are not watch us continuously for an opportunity to come into existence.
You see, there is no way to prove that I am following The Not and its obtuse instructions. It can only appear where it has never been. It can only act on things that are unknown. It is only through the realm of possibility that The Not and I communicate. Because of this, The Not cannot be proven. It leads to doubts at times.
But all doubt departs when the first thing that should not be becomes real.
This is the tale of one of those things.
