This maybe a prose poem, but I am skeptical about the label.

Anyway, here's a slice of life piece, which I am also skeptical of.

So do I.

Despite myself, I am a product of the wilderness and produce sentimental items like this with some regularity. This one had me sobbing about half-way through - so unlike how I imagine myself to be.

That is why it isn't an effective story, as I noted in the introduction. It lacks action; it is explative without a concrete narrative. I had intended to write a complete story but I got weepy about 3 paragraphs in and thought the images themselves carried enough power to stand on their own.

I cannot fathom writing a real story out of it until I can get over my emotional outbursts because the logical conclusion is the end of natural beauty, the silent spring, the overdevelopment of the world into one huge human farm with the rows of human plants laid out ... well, that is a good idea :)
