Better Days
Things are looking better and better these days. Sedric and I are still broken up. Going on about 3 weeks now. But we talk on a pretty regular basis and are trying to be good friends to one another. It is hard at times. But I think it will be worth it in the long run. I really care about him and value his friendship so much. That is what has been one of the hardest things about the breakup. Anyways, we are both pretty confused about what we want right now. But I am in a good place with or without him and that makes me happy.
School is going good. I am maintaining about a 3.5. Which is good. Also, by taking a few classes this summer it will put me ahead by a year, so I will be graduating in May 08. Yes!!! I think I am pretty positive that I want to do my Graduate work at Chapel Hill (I am really excited about what I have learned about their program), so I am trying to keep my GPA up so that I can get a scholarship. I had some other schools in mind as well like University of Maryland, Columbia, and San Francisco State. But I cannot justify taking out loans to attend those schools (some estimate 30,000+ a year) when I will not be making more than about that much when I start out to begin with. If I get a scholarship or grants though I will reconsider those other schools. Either way I am extremely excited about that and the fact that I will be fully immersed in my Social Work courses starting in the summer and will begin volunteering hopefully in May.
I am getting more involved in politics and community stuff as well. A co-worker and I are going to the Democratic Convention tomorrow. So will hopefully be very interesting.
Also I am trying to get back in touch with some old friends and trying to get out and do more stuff around town. I am going to see "Kiss Me Kate" with a friend tomorrow night and on Monday will hopefully go and see Julie in her big stage debut in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest."
As of late I have been really bad about working out. And about getting use out of my camera. So I am going to try and do better with those things as well.
Other than that nothing new.
